Bonjour, Pick-up at your hotel adress or accommodation First Stop : Cap Ferret Lighthouse and the Museum (1H20 drive from Bordeaux) We will start the visit with the lighthouse, it is 57 meters, lighthouse offering a 360 degree view. The lightouse climb is adapted to your own pace. On one side, the Bassin d’Arcachon with a view of the Banc d’Arguin, the bird island, the oyster farms and the view of the Dune du Pilat. And the other side the village of Cap Ferret and the view on the Atlantic side with the magnificent sand dunes. At the top the guide explain all things of the Arcachon Bay. Coming down we continue with the Musuem with some information of The Arcachon Bay, the tides, navigation instruments, lighthouse history. After the Musuem you have a souvenirs gift shop. Second Stop : The oyster village of L’Herbe and The Chapel of the Algerian villa Time : 45 minutes Charming, pretty, typical and unspoilt, a wide range of adjectives could be used to describe this little village nestling between the tree-covered dune and the bay. Typical oyster village with small fishermen’s houses, still inhabited today. We will cross the narrow streets to experience the spirit of this village, where colorful wooden huts and houses, small gardens and flowerbeds are lined up. We will taste oysters directly from the village, you can follow the development process of an oyster. It is all that remains of the vast domain built by entrepreneur Léon Lesca on his return from Algeria. Third Stop : Tasting Oysters at the water’s edg (Arcachon Bay) Time : 1 hour The Tasting Oysters place is in a wonderful wood terrace overlook the Arcachon Bay with a view of the typical boat, The Pinasse and The Chaland and the Pilat Dune. You can choose between 6 at 12 Oysters per person with a cup of white or rosé wine and if you do not like the Oysters you have some shrimps, whelk, winkle or paté (terrine).
