House of Wine - La Maison du Vin de Bordeaux

'Bordeaux's House of Wine' is the centre for the CIVB, the Bordeaux Wine Trade Council and the quintessential wine bar 'Bar á Vin'.

You can't miss the 18th century building shaped like a ship's prow just across from the Bordeaux Tourist Office not far from the main tram stop 'Quinconces' by the Esplanade des Quinconces.In this building you will find The CIVB (Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux), home of all the Bordeaux wine professionals, wine producers, brokers and négociants of the Gironde, the Wine School and the elegant 'Bar á Vin' or Wine Bar open to all customers for tastings of a careful selection of Bordeaux wines.

The 'Bar á Vin' is staffed by friendly trained wine specialists and sommeliers. Wine tastings are well priced by the glass for very special wines - most wines range in price from 2.50 to 3.50 € for a 15 cl glass.

'Bar á Vin' is also a great break destination in a hectic day and an opportunity to relax in ultra comfort surroundings nibbling from a selection of cheeses and cured meat delectables. It's one of the few wine bars open all day.
