Château de Chambert

Bordeaux

Try the desert Malbec wine, Chambert Rugomme. This is a nice surprise for Malbec lovers.

In England the Malbec wine was known as 'Black Wine'. By 1690 Château Chambert's Malbec wine was already enjoyed by Kings, Popes in Avignon, Czarist Russia and officers in Bordeaux. Exported all over Europe it was a well known 'Black Wine'.

Plan a day trip from Bordeaux and visit Château de Chambert for tasting and tours. Knowledgeable and most personable Philippe Lejeune continues the wine making tradition achieving excellence on a vineyard of over 145 acres of vines. The limestone soils of clay are perfect with red iron oxide which produce unusually refined wines with good minerality. Ecocertification of the vineyard started in 2009 and Philippe's Malbec wines have garnered several awards and excellent reviews. Great value.
