Reviews
What a wonderful discovery Villa Violette was! Located in Pessac, not far from the Pellegrin University Hospital (about a 10-15 minute walk), the house itself is quite well situated and benefits from a quiet neighborhood. Check-in is from 5 pm to 9 pm, with check-out before 10 am on the day of arrival. Run by a charming lady who will soon be 70, she was a truly kind host and offered excellent advice regarding our various requests. The rooms are very spacious (approximately 20m²) with impressively high ceilings. However, be aware that it is an older house, and the soundproofing may be lacking due to its age. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs. The garden, full of greenery and composed of various plant species, is pleasant and offers welcome shade from the heat. Breakfast is included in the price, and both the quality and quantity are excellent, with a wide variety of breads, orange juice, and homemade jams. All this at a price that no other hotel in the area can compete with. In short, a very pleasant surprise and a real gem of a stay at Villa Violette. We will certainly return when we are next in Bordeaux.
We had a lovely stay. This guesthouse has a charming, old-fashioned feel that won't appeal to those accustomed to modern comforts. The furniture and amenities are quite vintage, and you can hear every little noise from the other guests. However, you do get a large room with a comfortable bed, plus a fridge and microwave. The owner is very welcoming, friendly, and attentive to her guests. The breakfast is lavish and organic (homemade yogurt and jams). The location is perfect for reaching the center of Bordeaux by bus (lines 4 and 80) or the Saint-Jean train station by TER regional train. The Talence-Médoquine train station is a 5-minute walk away and also provides access to Arcachon and Soulac-sur-Mer. In short, Villa Violette is a great place to stay 👍
