Highlights

  • Walk the streets of Bordeaux with your equipment and solve riddles
  • Discover the history of the Golden Triangle district
  • Uncover a century-old mystery and find Francisco de Goya’s skull

Description

On April 16, 1828, at 2 a.m., Spanish artist Francisco de Goya died in Bordeaux. His funeral took place at Notre-Dame church, and he was buried in the Chartreuse cemetery.

In 1880, when efforts began to repatriate his body to Spain, the gravediggers discovered that Goya’s skull was missing during the exhumation.

Code Case reopens this investigation. You will follow the footsteps of Goya in the Golden Triangle district, exploring history from the 19th to the 21st centuries.

This treasure hunt combines escape game elements with local history. Instead of escaping a room, a Bordeaux neighborhood is your playground. You receive a locked suitcase (or a backpack for groups over 13) containing the mystery and tools to solve it. Use old files and authentic equipment sourced from Gironde to uncover Bordeaux’s secrets.

The route covers less than one kilometre. The difficulty can suit novices or experts, and the game is adaptable for all levels.

Recommended for ages 12 to 112 years. Children under 12 and adults over 112 participate for free.
