Description

I offer to pick you up at your place of arrival (Airport / train station / ...) or residence (Hotel / AirBnb / ...) in a private vehicle with driver from Bordeaux or the surrounding area. After a 45-minute drive (Tesla Y), we arrive at the first Château in Sauternes, where a welcome coffee & croissants will introduce us to the AOC with a member of the estate staff. You'll then visit the estate (vines, cellars, etc.) and taste the château's wines. We'll then hop on our bikes for a ride through the vineyards and châteaux (from the most famous: Yquem, Sigalas-Rabaux, Rayne-Vigneau, La-Tour Blanche,... to small family estates), along the ciron (a shady stream playing a vital role in the production of sweet wines). For lunch, we'll stop at a family estate for a short visit with the owner, who will join us for lunch. This is a unique opportunity to taste her wines and chat with her. Afterwards, we'll hop back on the bikes and head off to another Barsac Grand Cru Classé château, where you'll be able to expand on your newly acquired knowledge. At the end of the afternoon, we'll take a different route to Sauternes. At the end of the day, I'll take you back to Bordeaux in my vehicle. The bike ride, which is easy to moderate, lasts around 15 km over the course of the day. You'll visit a Sauternes 1er grand cru classé and a family estate, where we'll have lunch with the owner.
