Description
This tour requires good physical condition as it involves walking on sand. Departure is between 8:00 and 9:00 am, depending on weather and traffic conditions.
Pick-up and drop-off are provided at your hotel or accommodation in Bordeaux. You will receive a confirmation message one day before the tour with pick-up details and recommended clothing advice.
The tour can be private on request, requiring a minimum of 4 participants.
Tour Stops
Pilat Dune: About a one-hour drive from Bordeaux, visit the highest sand dune in Europe at 106.6 meters tall. Enjoy panoramic views of Arcachon Bay, oyster farms, sandbanks, Cap-Ferret lighthouse, the Atlantic Ocean, and Landaise Forest. You will spend about 1 to 1 hour 20 minutes climbing the dune, touring, photographing, and receiving commentary.
La Teste-de-Buch Oyster Port: Discover this authentic fishing port with many oyster huts and local oyster farmers. Enjoy a tasting of 6 to 12 oysters per person paired with a glass of white or rosé wine. Alternatives such as shrimps, whelk, winkle, or pâté are available for those who prefer other seafood options. If you do not eat seafood, the tour includes a stop at a bakery or pastry shop to pick up food to share with the group before the tasting.
Arcachon Town: You will have one hour of free time to relax on the beach, swim, sunbathe, or visit local shops and cafés. Before departure, the guide will show you the historic villas of Arcachon.
The return to Bordeaux is approximately a one-hour drive back to your accommodation.
