Description
Bordeaux is primarily known for its red wines, but its white wines offer diverse styles ranging from vibrant Sauvignon Blancs to richer Sémillon blends. This experience guides you through the history, appellations, grape varieties, terroirs, and winemaking techniques specific to Bordeaux white wines.
You will learn to distinguish the stylistic differences between the Left Bank and the Right Bank, understanding how stainless steel fermentation preserves freshness and aromatics, while barrel aging adds depth and structure. The tasting includes sampling the renowned sweet wine Sauternes.
Led by certified wine specialists trained at the Université du Vin, this interactive session features wines from prestigious and independent estates, plus a mystery wine to sharpen your sensory skills. Each wine is paired with a carefully selected aged French cheese to enhance the tasting experience.
A tasting booklet is provided for continued learning. Depending on the season, tastings take place in a Bordeaux-style tasting room, a private courtyard, or a cellar environment. All wines tasted can be purchased on-site.
