Description
Begin your day at 10:30 am at 3 rue d’Enghien, 33000 Bordeaux, at the À la Française apartment. The experience starts with a welcome glass of white wine and a wine tasting basics lesson designed to build your confidence in any French restaurant.
You will learn the history of Bordeaux wines and key grape varieties like Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Taste two single-varietal wines and participate in a blending workshop where you will compare two freshly blended wines. A blind tasting of a renowned Bordeaux wine follows, where you’ll identify its origin.
All tastings are paired with a typical French apéritif including fresh bread, dry sausage, cheese, and dark chocolate. Your guide will help you discover your wine tasting profile. The wine tasting session ends around 12:00 pm, with personalized lunch recommendations offered by your guide.
At 2:00 pm, take a scenic drive to Saint-Emilion. Visit a prestigious Great Classified Growth winery on the Right Bank, learn about the winemaking process from vine to bottle, and enjoy an aperitif with French delicacies while tasting several of their wines.
Later, explore the medieval village of Saint-Emilion—listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site—with a guided walk revealing its history and unique features.
