Château Palanquez was an intimate luxurious experience away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A well thought gift from my kids for our wedding ☺️. It is just an hour away from Bordeaux. We came pretty stressed for both my hubby and myself but left with a feeling of lightness, happiness and contemplation having stayed a night in the comfort of luscious pillows and bedding in our well decorated modern , huge and clean room. In the heart of a vineyard, we can only hear the singing of birds..☺️ Mélanie was just as happy to make us feel very comfortable. For dinner, Laurent cooked for us. And he is a very good cook indeed! Houmous and a refreshing Lilet for apéritif... Oeuf cocotte asperge for a starter.. Magret de canard with truffled polenta, zucchini and their magical raspberry vinegar sauce.. 😋 so delicious. Cheese and, last but not least, for dessert, there was an apple crumble and Red berries salad, picked straight from their garden 😍. Delicious home cooked food, nothing microwaved. And very good wine to go with our meal. Our tummies were full and happy. Watched sunset by their beautiful pool , played babyfoot, billards and dart that had us laughing .. like kids again.😁 The next morning, a huge yummy breakfast with eggs , fruits, home-made jam, fresh bread, croissant, chocolatine.. all eaten in the beautiful garden. We then tried their jacuzzi .. 😳 we needed that 😁. Just us, with no one around. We got pampered by professional masseuses too. We chose a face massage thinking a dip in a jacuzzi would be enough to help us get totally relaxed 😌. Then everything has an end. We hope to go back, and this time for longer days and laze around their swimming pool...☺️ Thank you Melanie and Laurent for making our stay magical, and romantic. We highly recommend Château Palanquez .😍

Everything was absolutely perfect from the rooms to the grounds, the meals, the wine, and the exceptional kindness of our hosts, Melanie & Laurent. It’s probably hard to give a fair review when you become great friends with the owners during your stay… but perhaps that *is* the review. We needed to get out of Paris for a few days and decided to make our second trip to Palanquey in a year. We highly recommend it to others—but not so much that it gets fully booked and we can’t return. Melanie and Laurent were incredible hosts, and their attention to detail, along with their ability to make you feel at home, is a true gift of hospitality. Breakfast each day was superb, with bacon and scrambled eggs prepared just the way I like them—it always got the day off to a great start. The workout area is small, but with roads to jog and bike along between the vineyards, it’s more than adequate. We also enjoyed the spa, massage chair, and hot tub. And of course, they have a fantastic wine cellar filled with interesting vintages, often accompanied by stories about the vineyard owners who produced them. One of the most interesting aspects of the property is the curation of each room. There’s always something new to notice—something you likely missed the last time you walked in. The game room, in particular, was a wonderful place to decompress and take a mental break from work and stress. There are dozens of games, puzzles, and fascinating items, ranging from antique brainteasers to modern board games—and, of course, a fantastic chess set. I’m so thankful we had the opportunity to experience the property, the marvelous food, the views, and the warm, rich hospitality that rivals that of my home state—Mississippi, aptly dubbed “The Hospitality State.” Cheers, and we look forward to coming back again soon.
We absolutely loved our time at Palanquey! Melanie was such an amazing host, taking care of our every need. We enjoyed daily breakfast on the lawn under a tree, joined by their adorable yellow Labrador. She helped coordinate e-bikes and we rode to St. Emilion and surrounding chateaus. We enjoyed a massage on site, swam in the pool, relaxed in the sauna and truly appreciated the room and other amenities. We highly recommend this gem!
What a unique experience! Such a classy, charming hotel, and the spa was just what my family and I needed. Dinner (+ their very own wine) and breakfast were top class too. Thanks again Melanie, and we’ll see you next time :-). Colling Family
