Description

We leave at 9:30 a.m. directly from your accommodation in Bordeaux. The vehicle is comfortable, hybrid, and quiet. This tour is 100% private, for 1 to 3 people maximum (no shared van). There are no other participants: you are on vacation, everything is tailored to your pace. During the journey (approximately 90 minutes), I will tell you about the region, its wines, the Dordogne valley, and more. We will drive along vineyards and bastides (new towns from the Middle Ages) and through unspoiled countryside. First stop: the Château de Monbazillac. This 16th-century castle is perched above the vineyards, with a magnificent view of the entire valley. You will visit the interior (entrance not included - self-guided tour with audio guide) and finish with a tasting of sweet wine, typical of the appellation. This is an iconic castle in the region, combining Renaissance architecture and a fairytale atmosphere. You'll learn a lot about wine. Next, I suggest you discover a traditional country inn, just a few minutes away. The setting is simple and local, and the meal is very generous, homemade, and typical of the Southwest and France. Take your time and eat like the locals. A real local meal! (meal not included). After lunch, you will visit a superb family-run winery (included). The setting is enchanting, the welcome is warm, and the wines are authentic. You will learn about the grape varieties, visit the estate, and taste several red, white, or sweet wines depending on the season and production. On the way back, we take a scenic local road through the listed landscapes of Saint-Émilion. We stop for a few photos in the heart of the vineyards. This is an opportunity to give you a quick overview of the history of this prestigious terroir. Return to Bordeaux around 5pm. This is a 100% private, comfortable, and customizable tour. You will discover another side of Southwestern wines, far from the crowds of the big tours of Saint-Émilion, in a simple and friendly atmosphere with a local guide.
