Description
This 8-hour excursion is an in-depth discovery of both vineyards of Bordeaux and Cognac with their specific traditions and ways to grow vine and produce wines and spirits. You will visit a wine estate producing several types of Bordeaux wines. You will hear about the specific ways AOC wines are produced, such as no watering the vine and blending at least 2 wines. The visit ends with an oenologic workshop where you taste at least 4 different basic wines (merlot, cabernet etc) which you will blend in order to produce your own bottle of Bordeaux wine, which you will take away. Enjoy lunch with your guide at a restaurant popular with the local people. This will be a great opportunity to taste a delicious meal with local drinks and enjoy a moment of French lifestyle. During this tour you will also meet people whose families have produced cognacs for generations. They will show you their estate and distillery, then you'll taste their production; thus you'll be able to touch on what means 'give time to time'. By visiting these two family estates, you will understand the different philosophies behind the production of cognac. This tour is also an opportunity to discover Romanesque churches and enjoy the typical scenery of a terroir, considered by many as the “French Tuscany”. You will tour with an English speaking 'Cognac Educator', certified by BNIC - Cognac Interprofession Association, who will take you from the vine to the glass, through the rich history of this region.Includes
